Pork Pasta Fazool - Cooking Recipes
1/2 lb. lean ground pork
1 small onion, diced
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 (14-1/2 oz.) can chicken broth 1(1d-1/2 oz.) can Italian-style chopped tomatoes
1 (15 oz.) can great Northern beans, rinsed and drained
1 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. crushed fennel seed
1/2 tsp. coarsely ground black pepper
1/2 cup small pasta, like shells or wagon wheels
1. In large heavy saucepan, brown and crumble pork over medium-high heat.
2. Stir in onion and garlic; cook and stir until onion is soft, about 3 minutes.
3. Stir in all remaining ingredients; bring to a boil, tower heat, cover and simmer for 10-12 minutes, until pasta is tender.
Makes 6 (1-cup) servings; 200 calories, 5 g. fat, 15 g. protein, 25 g. carbohydrates, 510 mg. sodium, 15 mg. cholesterol per serving.
